Dr. Mia Van

I am a boat refugee from Vietnam.  My family and I immigrated to the U.S.A. when I was 7.  We lived in Texas prior to settling in Orange County, CA.  We’ve resided in Garden Grove since 1989, where I attended Jordan Intermediate and graduated from Bolsa Grande H.S. in 1995.  I completed my B.A.’s in Psychology and Sociology from U.C.I.  I earned my doctorate in Education from U.C.R.  I have been a practicing school psychologist for GGUSD since 2000.  Working directly with students and their families is the most rewarding part of my job.  I’m married with 2.5 kids.  My family and I enjoy traveling and exploring new places to eat.
