Hare Named Among California’s Model Continuation High Schools

Hare High School earned a prestigious recognition from the California Department of Education as a California Model Continuation High School for 2022. This marks the second time Hare has earned this award as it was also recognized in 2019.

Hare was one of six schools in Orange County and 36 across the state selected for the distinction.

“We are proud that Hare continues to shine due to the amazing work of staff in implementing exceptional instructional practices and social-emotional supports that put students on a path to lifelong success,” said GGUSD Board of Education Trustee Teri Rocco.

“These model schools provide invaluable resources and academic opportunities to our high-needs students, who often are dealing with difficult life events,” said State Superintendent of Public Instruction Thurmond. “The efforts of teachers and administrators at our Model Continuation High Schools provide students with the social support, goal-setting, and coping skills that they need to succeed in the academic setting and in their lives after high school.”

Selection was based on a comprehensive application process including academic data and an on-site visit. There are more than 430 continuation high schools in California.
